Why Choose Us
A workshop that works on your terms
At Loceng Kencana, the watch comes first. Not the schedule, not the upsell — the piece itself and what it genuinely needs.

Six reasons people bring their watches here
Assessment First
Nothing starts until we have examined the piece and shared our findings with you. You decide what happens next.
Original Parts Kept
If a component still works, it stays. Replacement is suggested only when there is a genuine reason — and explained clearly.
Clear, Fixed Pricing
Service prices are stated up front. If additional work is needed, we say so before doing it — not on the collection bill.
Written Records
Heritage overhauls include a written note on the watch's condition. A small document you can keep with the piece.
Open Communication
You are kept informed throughout. If timelines shift, we let you know — not when you arrive to collect.
Respect for Sentimental Pieces
We understand that some watches carry more than time. They are handled accordingly — carefully and without indifference.
Skill built over time, not rushed
The watchmakers at Loceng Kencana have spent years with mechanical movements — learning what makes them run well and what causes them to fail quietly over time. That experience means fewer mistakes, more accurate assessments, and work that holds.
- Mechanical horology knowledge, not just battery changes
- Familiarity with vintage and inherited movements
- Steady, careful hands — not a production line
- Ongoing attention to method and precision
Tools chosen for the work, not for show
We use watchmaking tools suited to older and more delicate movements — not mass-service equipment that treats every piece the same way. When a movement calls for a lighter touch, the instrument in hand reflects that.
- Appropriate lubricants for each movement type
- Fine-grade cleaning methods that do not damage aged parts
- Protective storage throughout the service period
- No shortcuts that trade convenience for care
A workshop where questions are welcome
You can ask about your watch at any stage — what we found, what we did, why we suggested something, or why we did not. There is no closed door here. The more you understand about your piece, the better you can care for it.
- All findings shared before work begins
- Explanations in plain language, not jargon
- Care advice included with Heritage Overhauls
- Walk-in enquiries handled with the same patience
Pricing that says what it means
Heritage Movement Overhaul at RM 238. Hand & Dial Tidy at RM 282. Comfort & Wear Refit at RM 329. These prices cover the service as described. If something additional arises, we stop and discuss it — there are no surprises on the receipt.
- Prices stated clearly before any work begins
- No hidden charges for standard service components
- Additional work discussed and approved first
- Straightforward receipts — in Ringgit Malaysia

What Sets Us Apart
The things we will not compromise on
The Written Condition Note
For every Heritage Movement Overhaul, we produce a short written record of the watch's condition and what was done. Few repair workshops offer this. It costs us time — and we think it is worth it.
You Decide the Pace
There is no pressure here to commit quickly or spend more than you intended. You can enquire, sit with the information, and return when you are ready. We will still be here.
In-House Work Only
All services are carried out at the workshop on Jalan Sultan Idris Shah. Your watch does not travel to an unknown facility. You know where it is and who is working on it.
Sympathetic, Not Standardised
Work on a vintage piece from 1960 looks different from work on a modern automatic. We adapt our method to the watch — not the other way around.
